Our wedding anniversary is a week before the 4th of July holiday and we typically do a little mash up of the two with one fun tablescape. Because this year was our 20th wedding anniversary, I wanted to make the table extra special and went with an elegant theme of blues and whites with colorful florals.
The flowers came together in a less than traditional way for this year’s 4th of July holiday tablescape. I used traditional reds, whites and blues, then added some pink and purple to brighten the color pallet while still keeping it on our holiday theme. All of these flowers are faux and came from either Michael’s or a website I love for artificial flowers and greenery, Afloral.com. If you’ve seen my other table designs, you know I tend to favor artificial flowers because of the flexibility they give me – I can use any vase to hold them, they’re reusable, and they never need watering!
For the design this year, I mixed up themes a little and added a few coastal accents to compliment the blue and white designs, starting with these lovely coral chargers, then added a gold charger, and finished with some beautiful blue and white floral dinner plates I found at Williams Sonoma. I added a pop of color with both a red floral napkin and a red water goblet.
I then started adding unique accents to the table. For this 4th of July table design, I wanted to accent the blue and white with some sparkle by adding a necklace to the ginger jar I used as vase, beaded blue and white candle rings to the glass pillar holders, matte gold votive holders, and silver mercury taper holders for added shine.
I then added a few blue and white decorative balls that I found on sale at Michael’s (tip – most of the seasonal items go on sale about two weeks after they are on the shelves!) and a few pieces of coral I have around my home to tie to the coral charger plates at each place setting.
For the finishing touches, I added a mini floral arrangement to each place setting and blue and white salt and pepper shakers to the table.
I hope this year’s 4th of July tablescape gave you a few ideas for your next holiday table design! We enjoyed a delicious meal at this lovely table and celebrated our anniversary here the entire weekend! My “perfect” Brioche French toast was especially delicious! (p.s. you can find my recipe here) Thank you for joining me today, until next time, Cheers!
