With the weather finally turning cooler here in Southern California, and Christmas right around the corner, I designed this Christmas tablescape with an Alpine forest as my inspiration, using plenty of trees, lush greenery and rustic accents for the final look.
For the place setting, I tend to use my existing dinnerware plates and make them “new” again using mix and match pieces. Here, I started with foundation layers using a pine placemat with added eucalyptus stems, and a wooden charger to keep the look anchored in the forest.
I then added my dinner plate, a green salad plate and finished with some lovely Christmas accents plates I found at Spode.com, they were on sale and added a little whimsy to the table and matched the etching on my water glasses perfectly!
For the final touches, I added a beautiful sage colored linen napkin with a forest inspired napkin ring, and mini trees, greenery and pinecones at each place setting.
Adding a few simple accents to your final table design will enhance the overall theme while making it more festive! I created small greenery bundles in gold mercury votives for each place setting to match the table’s arrangement, and added accents with a glittery pinecone that looks slightly dusted with snow!
The table design came together with a pine garland accented with small pinecones and winter berries, a series of pine trees in various sizes, an arrangement of greenery that include juniper, pine and eucalyptus stems in a vase filled with faux snow, candles and finally a bronzed rustic deer sculpture accent piece.
I really loved how this alpine Christmas tablescape came together! All the beautiful shades of greenery and added sparkle gave the table a warm and festive feel while keeping us in a forest like setting. Enjoying our Christmas brunch together at this beautiful setting will make us want to linger over our brioche French toast a little longer than usual!
I hope you found some new ideas for your Christmas table design. Until next year, Cheers!
