This Fourth of July table design was inspired by a New England styled lobster bake, bringing both traditional July 4th holiday styles into the design with stars and stripes, while including seaside elements as well to make it unique but still true to the occasion.
Designing the Place Setting
The place setting here was a lot of fun to put together because the lobster bake theme provided so many design options, from the mini white colanders and bright red lobster crackers, to all the side dishes each guest will need for the interactive feast!
The place setting started with a red linen napkin I used as a mini runner as the foundation, then added a rattan charger for warmth and a blue glass charger for added color.
I then layered a white seashell dinner plate with patriotic stars and stripes salad plate before adding a mini white colander to the setting.
The place setting was finished with a striped lobster napkin in a rattan napkin ring, white handled flatware and a seashell paper napkins for more seaside inspiration at each dinner place.
Adding Unique Elements
This table was largely designed as a Fourth of July seaside lobster bake, so flowers were more of a secondary accent than the main focus. For the flowers, I scattered vases filled with white and blue hydrangeas with a few red ranunculus tucked in around the perimeter of the table to give the tablescape a frame.
From there, I added unique pieces to make this table come together – twisted tapers that mimicked ropes you would find on a boat, and light blue glass buoys for a seaside feeling.
I finished the table by adding a bright red star lantern and some fun americana crackers to stay true to my Fourth of July holiday theme!
I hope you found some new and unique design ideas to bring to your next Fourth of July table design. Until next year, Cheers!
