Spring is officially here and with it our first big holiday to celebrate, Easter! This year, Easter coincided with my birthday, so I wanted the table setting to be spring themed with bunnies, eggs and butterflies, but also very feminine, so I added touches of bright pink through the use of florals.
For the Easter florals this year, I started thinking about the table’s theme and colors early so I could find the items I wanted and budget for them well ahead of the holiday. The blue vases are Lenox and I found them at Macy’s during a home sale. I paired the pink florals I found at Michael’s earlier in the year and the parrot tulips I bought on sale at Afloral.com (a great floral website for seasonal stems and garlands).
Adding Decorative Accents
Once the florals were done, I added decorative touches with aqua candles, rattan wrapped vases I’m using as candle holders here, and a eucalyptus garland I’ve had for years (also from Afloral) that I can change to any season or occasion by adding picks, flowers, or for this Easter table, a string of butterflies.
My Easter table design wouldn’t be complete without bunnies and colorful eggs! These grass bunnies got their own decorative accents with gingham ribbon from Michael’s, and the aqua blue glass basket to hold the eggs were a perfect match to the blue hues in the flower vases and aqua tapers on the table.
Setting The Table
For the place setting, I used polka dot plates for their whimsy – gold polka dot dinner plates I found at Home Goods last year, and a light teal polka dot salad plate – and accented using a few different napkins, some cloth and one paper, to add some pops of color, finishing with a greenery accent from a boxwood gift wrap tie I found at Target last December. I finished it off with natural accents in the chargers and napkin rings.
Adding Special Extras
Adding extras in always the fun part! Once the place setting is done, I always add in little extras to make the space just a bit more festive and give the table more visual interest. Here I added those little grass bunnies I found on Amazon that were dressed up for the occasion with gingham ribbon, butterfly crackers from Caspari, a lovely glass bud vase with a faux pink rose, and finished with a gold specked egg to complete my bunnies and butterfly theme for the table.
I finished this festive table with my birthday cake on top of a lovely pink milk glass cake stand. It’s my birthday, and there is always cake involved!
Thank you for joining my today and Happy Easter! I love how this table came together and I hope some of the ideas I’ve shared here will give you a few to consider for your next Easter table design. Until next our next celebration, Cheers!
